Speaker: Professor Richard MacIsaac
Prof Richard MacIsaac Endocrinologist, Director, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne; Professor, University of
Melbourne Richard MacIsaac is professor and director of Endocrinology and Diabetes at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and the University of Melbourne. Prior to taking up his current position he was head of diabetes at Austin Health, Melbourne. His main research interest is diabetes and its complications, especially those related to cardiovascular and kidney disease.
He has published over 180 research articles. Prior to embarking in a career in medicine, he completed a PhD at the Howard Florey Institute, Melbourne where he examined the development of the foetal hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and then embarked on a 2-year post doctorial fellowship at St Vincent’s Institute of Medical Research, Melbourne examining foetal calcium metabolism. He graduated from the University of Melbourne’s Medical School in 1995 and was awarded his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2002.
Currently specific research interests are inpatient glycaemic control, defining the albuminuria and glomerular filtration rate relationship in diabetes, investigating new biomarkers for renal and vascular disease in diabetes and studying renal function in indigenous Australians.

Speaker: A/Prof Andrea Driscoll
A/Professor Andrea Driscoll holds influential academic and clinical roles as a Professor of Nursing and Midwifery at Deakin University within the Quality and Patient Safety Strategic Research Centre and a nurse practitioner at Austin Health. She leads the Centre for Quality and Patient Safety Strategic Research, Monash Health Partnership. Professor Driscoll has an established program of research focusing on advanced practice nurses, nurse practitioners and system redesign to improve evidence-based practice to reduce disparities in health care. She has transformed workforce models of care through her pioneering work in nurse-led clinics.
She has received several national and international awards for her research. She is currently an international fellow of American Heart Association and European Society of Cardiology, and fellow of Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand in recognition of her contributions to cardiovascular nursing through practice, research, and education. She is a fellow of Australian College of Nurse Practitioners due to her leadership in progressing the role of nurse practitioners in Australia through national health policies and professional regulations.

Speaker: Dr Kathy Rainbird
Dr Kathy Rainbird holds a PhD in Behavioural Science in Relation to Medicine and is a Manager in the Education Team at the Australian Digital Health Agency. Kathy is based in Western Australia and has been working with Aboriginal Medical Services and other healthcare providers, both across WA and nationally, training them in the benefits, features and clinical use of My Health Record and other digital health tools.

Speaker: Dr Paul Clark and Sally Castle
Dr Paul Clark MBBS (Hons 1), MPH&TM, PhD, FRACP, FAChAM Dr Paul Clark is the Director of the Alcohol and Drug Assessment Unit, and Senior Staff Specialist, Department of Gastroenterology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. He is Clinical Lead, Hepatology at the Mater Hospital Brisbane. He has provided specialist outreach services at Inala Indigenous Health Centre (CRE) and Central Queensland.
His specialist training was completed in Brisbane and Duke University Medical Centre, North Carolina. He is an Associate Professor with the School of Medicine, University of Queensland. In addition to clinical and research interests in liver disease, addiction and their interaction, he has been involved developing innovative service models to address social determinants in health.
Ms Sally Castle
Chief Executive Officer Sally Castle is an internationally-recognised strategist delivering growth in revenue, reach and impact for values-based organisations, balancing commercial imperatives with social impact goals. Sally has over 20 years’ experience working in the health sector across medical research institutes, health peak bodies and private sector organisations.
